Planning to Converse with an Inference-Limited Agent

چکیده

This paper addresses three topics on functionality that should be incorporated into planning formalisms so that they can: (1) respect limitations of the recipient's working memory; (2) rely on the recipient's inferences to achieve communicative goals; and (3) deliberately violate normally-respected conversational rules to achieve a communicative e ect. The argument is that a planner for communicative acts must rely on a model of the recipient's working memory. This is supported by data from a corpus of naturally-occurring problem-solving dialogues, and by results from computational experiments. The computational experiments show that the performance of resource limited agents is determined by their choice of communicative acts.

Probabilistic Inference Techniques for Scalable Multiagent Decision Making

Decentralized POMDPs provide an expressive framework for multiagent sequential decision making. However, the complexity of these models—NEXP-Complete even for two agents—has limited their scalability. We present a promising new class of approximation algorithms by developing novel connections between multiagent planning and machine learning. We show how the multiagent planning problem can be re...

Extending the Qualitative Trajectory Calculus Based on the Concept of Accessibility of Moving Objects in the Paths

Qualitative spatial representation and reasoning are among the important capabilities in intelligent geospatial information system development. Although a large contribution to the study of moving objects has been attributed to the quantitative use and analysis of data, such calculations are ineffective when there is little inaccurate data on position and geometry or when explicitly explaining ...

Implementation of Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (Anfis) for Performance Prediction of Fuel Cell Parameters

Fuel cells are potential candidates for storing energy in many applications; however, their implementation is limited due to poor efficiency and high initial and operating costs. The purpose of this research is to find the most influential fuel cell parameters by applying the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The ANFIS method is implemented to select highly influential parame...

Eliminating "Converse" from Converse PDL

In this paper we show that it is possible to eliminate the converse operator from the propositional dynamic logic CPDL Converse PDL without compromising the soundness and completeness of inference for it Speci cally we present an encoding of CPDL formulae into PDL that eliminates the converse programs from a CPDL formula but adds enough information so as not to destroy its original meaning with...

Forecasting Industrial Production in Iran: A Comparative Study of Artificial Neural Networks and Adaptive Nero-Fuzzy Inference System

Forecasting industrial production is essential for efficient planning by managers. Although there are many statistical and mathematical methods for prediction, the use of intelligent algorithms with desirable features has made significant progress in recent years. The current study compared the accuracy of the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Adaptive Nero-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) app...
